Making an informed decision is a critical aspect of the online car buying experience, especially now when every penny counts. Our new “Compare Payments” feature on the VDP brings the roll to payments function that has been an integral part of the sales process for years to the forefront. Now customers and sales agents can quickly review all of the different scenarios possible to meet the desired payment goals — whether that is rolling to a specific monthly payment, down payment or amount due at signing, we have you covered.
With most showrooms closed, now is the time to encourage your Internet and BDC teams to guide every customer through the online buying process by sharing links to interactive deal sheets and curated inventory lists that meet the customer’s needs. “Share Details” has always been one of our most popular features and is even more popular given the focus on contactless car buying.
The fast-changing market conditions have made some third party trade valuation tools temporarily unreliable. You may need to contact your tool provider to learn if or how you can customize values for your specific market conditions. If you’re still not satisfied, consider putting your own value on your trade-ins. With “Express Trade”, customers can easily capture and submit their trade-in information, including a multitude of photos to help you make a firm offer. If you aren’t already using Express Trade and would like to temporarily replace your current trade provider within your Express Store, contact your Dealer Success Manager.
If your customers are not comfortable coming to the store, or home delivery is not an option, customers can reserve a car and place a deposit for future pickup. This is great for used cars in particular, where each car is unique. You decide how much of a deposit you want to require and how long you are willing to hold the car. Once a car is reserved, the VIN will show up with a special “reserved” badge on your Roadster SRP and VDP pages. To enable this feature, you will first need a Stripe account for credit card processing. Contact your Dealer Success Manager to enable this on your Express Store.
In order to get a customer approved to finance or lease a car online, there are often times when other documents (besides credit app, driver’s license and/or insurance cards) are necessary for the bank to approve the loan. With the “Request Documents” feature, sales agents can request additional documents and stipulations from the customer after the final deal sheet is accepted. Once the documents are uploaded, they will be added to the deal packet for final review.
To request documents, go to Orders > All Actions > Request Documents in Dealer Admin.
